Man, Woman Charged With Stealing From Sears In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a man and a woman on larceny charges, following an alleged shoplifting incident at a local Sears.

An officer was notified by Sears Loss Prevention personnel that two shoplifters were in custody at the store at 600 Lee Blvd. in Yorktown Heights on Saturday, March 26, at approximately 8:02 p.m., police report.

An investigation at the scene revealed that the two suspects, identified as Madeline Lucre, 46, of Yonkers, and Rashon M. Diggs, 26, of the Bronx, allegedly stole five bottles of perfume and a pair of headphones having a total value of $319.99, officials report.

The suspects were arrested at the scene and transported back to Police Headquarters for processing; each has been charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, according to police.

Lucre and Diggs were arraigned on Sunday, March 27, police report.

They were remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections in lieu of $2,500 bail for Lucre, and $1,000 bail for Diggs, officials report.

The defendants are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 31, according to police.
