Police Pursue Suspect Who Robbed 93-Year-Old At Cortlandt Town Center

MOHEGAN LAKE, N.Y. -- State Police are seeking the public's help in locating a robbery suspect who reportedly stole the wallet of a 93-year-old woman at the Cortlandt Town Center in Mohegan Lake on Thursday, authorities said.

Officers from the Cortlandt barracks were dispatched to the mall when the robbery was reported at approximately 2:34 p.m., according to officials.

When police arrived, they interviewed the victim, who said she had parked in front of Old Navy in the handicapped parking area, police report.

When the victim placed her purse on the passenger seat, the suspect, described as a thin white male with a goatee, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a white t-shirt and black hat, approached the driver side of her vehicle, according to officials.

The suspect demanded that she turn over her wallet, but the victim refused to comply; the suspect then reached across the victim, removed an undisclosed amount of cash from her wallet and fled in a northerly direction, police report.

State Police K9 Lane conducted a track to locate the suspect, but was unsuccessful, according to officials.
