On Tuesday, Yorktown police officials announced that they arrested three people on Friday, Dec. 23, who have been charged with individual counts of petit larceny.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall on Lee Boulevard, when they received reports of a shoplifter from the location’s asset protection team.

According to police, Peekskill resident William Pisani, 33, took merchandise, removed the security device from one item and walked past all points of purchase before attempting to exit the store without paying for items totaling nearly $400.

That same day, 20-year-old Lake Peekskill resident Camelia Ferraro turned herself into custody after she reportedly was spotted removing $120 from two cash registers at the Macy’s location at the mall and proceeded to conceal the money and exit the store on Friday, Dec. 16.

Police officers were back at Sears shortly after 8:30 p.m. that same day, when they arrested Lake Peekskill resident Brett Augustowski, 31, for allegedly putting two pairs of sweatpants into a Sears shopping bag and attempted to leave the store without paying. The total price of the items he attempted to steal was $74.

All three were arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and charged with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny. They were each released on their own recognizance and are due back in court on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
