Officer Michael Caprio initiated the traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. on July 26 after observing the driver fail to stop at a stop sign on Curry Street. Upon further investigation, police discovered 15 grams, or roughly half an ounce, of marijuana.

Officials are withholding the teen’s name due to eligibility for youthful offender status concerns. Police charged him with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a Violation, and released him to a parent without bail. He will appear in Yorktown Justice Court at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27.
