A Yorktown man surrendered himself into police custody in Yorktown after a warrant for his arrest was issued in White Plains.
Kareem Newby, 35, was arrested and held on an arrest warrant on Saturday afternoon, after failing to appear in White Plains Family Court, which issued the warrant.
Police said that Newby turned himself in on June 2 for the open warrant, which was issued by White Plains Family Court Judge Hal Greenwald.
Following arraignment, Newby was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of bail. Newby is due back in White Plains Family Court on Monday afternoon to answer the charges against him.
