Jeffrey Whalen of Yorktown Heights was found at the bottom of a 150-foot cliff on the Millbrook Trail about 3 p.m. Saturday, the newspaper reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whalen appears to have been taking pictures while hiking alone when he fell, according to the report.

The 45-year-old was the band director at Crompond Elementary School in Yorktown Heights on Oct. 7 when he was charged with a felony count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. The school district placed him on administrative leave after his arrest.

Whalen, who is accused of sharing a video featuring a child between the ages of 8-10, was released on bail after his arrest. According to the newspaper, a status on his case was not available Sunday.
