YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested an 18-year-old resident of Yorktown on a possession of marijuana charge.
The arrest was the result of a traffic stop about 4:20 a.m. Sunday for a vehicle with an alleged illegal exhaust modification on Route 202, police report.
After the traffic stop, an investigation was conducted, and a passenger, whose name is being withheld due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested on a charge of possessing marijuana, officials report.
The teen was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, according to police.
He was processed at the scene and released on his own recognizance, police report.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court for arraignment on Thursday, April 21, according to officials.
