It seems quite regularly there is controversy surrounding Yorktown Supervisor Micheal Grace. The current one stems from his representing Yorktown Auto Body, which happens to have a vendor contract with the town, in his capacity as an private attorney. He also voted to approve the contract with Yorktown Auto Body in his role as Supervisor. The Town Board added to the situation with its vote to cover the cost of a lawyer to represent Supervisor Grace from accusations stemming from his private work for Yorktown Auto Body. Some feel that there is a conflict of interest. Some think it could possibly be a quid pro quo. I believe the real problem is that Mr. Grace has two full time jobs which exist in the same time and space. If he were only the town supervisor there would be no issue If he were simply an attorney there would be again no issue The fact that he has two concurrent, full time jobs, appears to be cause of this current controversy. Hopefully, on January 1, 2018 he will only have one full time job.
