Two Charged in Fairfield Home Invasion

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Two suspects have been charged for their alleged roles in a home invasion on Lenox Road in September. Richard Taylor, 22, of Melville Avenue, was arrested Monday, and Legrander Worley, 22, of North Avenue, Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday. Police also expect to bring in more suspects this week.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said Lt. Mike Gagner, head of Fairfield’s Detective Bureau. “We absolutely expect that additional arrests will be made in the future.”

A Lenox Avenue resident and his houseguests told police that three armed men broke into the Fairfield home on Sept. 24. The men demanded money, and left with the purse and cell phone of one of the guests.

The victims told police they believed they knew the perpetrators and led investigators to the suspects. Fairfield detectives arrested Taylor and Worley this week, believing they were the men identified. Both men were charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit those crimes.
