Pound Ridge Cops: Youth Had Suspended License

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – Pound Ridge police arrested a 17-year-old driver on Sunday and charged him with unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle.

While patrolling Scofield Road, police observed a vehicle without a front license plate and pulled it over. A subsequent DMV check revealed that the driver was driving with a suspended license.

He was charged with unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree and also cited for a plate display violation.

He was released on $100 bail and is scheduled to return to court on March 5.

FEB. 17

Police were called to Westchester Avenue for a reported hit and run accident. A car was hit while parked; however, the drive left a note with contact information and contact was made.

Officers responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Pinebrook Road. The Pound Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the driver to Northern Westchester Hospital Center and the car was towed.

Two dogs were found on Salem Road and brought to the vet. The owner was notified.

FEB. 18

Police received a report of someone cutting trees on Bayberry Way. Investigation revealed it to be the highway department.

FEB. 19

Police received several reports of kids ringing doorbells and running away on Pheasant West Road. Officers patrolled the area with negative results.
