In fact, according to Carpenter, who's a member of The Artisan Group, an entertainment marketing organization that introduces Hollywood to the best of the handcrafted movement, the "Oxblood Trapeze," shown on the show Dec. 2, is her second piece that has been on the show.
Nouveau-Tique’s original designs have also been featured on "Hart of Dixie," "Quantico," "Baby Daddy," "Jane the Virgin" and "The Fosters," adding up to eight TV placements total.
And, because she's participated in exclusive 2015 and 2016 Mother's Day events coordinated by The Artisan Group, many celebrity moms including Kristen Bell, Isla Fisher, Ginnifer Goodwin, Milla Jovovich, Alicia Keys, Zoe Saldana, Chrissy Teigen, Liv Tyler and Carrie Underwood have pieces of her work.
Carpenter, a legal secretary at an entertainment firm in Los Angeles, CA, has been making jewelry since 2010 and started selling on Etsy in 2011. It was throughThe Artisan Group that she was given opportunities to send pieces to different television stylists for consideration to be used on their shows.
The Sacred Heart High School grad started the business as a hobby and a "much needed creative outlet" from the stresses of her job.
"I began with the simple idea of upcycling jewelry with supplies like vintage brooches, tapestry fabric, beads and jewelry discovered in antique/resale/thrift shops and at estate sales," she said.
"I love mixing the old with the new, and the idea of taking items that were once treasured but now are unwanted or broken and creating new pieces out of them really appeals to me."
Her business has grown from that idea and now features brand new pieces as well as upcycled vintage and a wide selection of jeweled wire trees. She also designs custom wedding cake toppers, table centerpieces, bridal jewelry and hair vines, birthstone jewelry and sculptures, dining, home and office decor.
Carpenter says her Maltese, Casper, has been her inspiration and why her Etsy listings has proceeds going to the American Maltese Association Rescue (to help with rescued Maltese dogs).
