YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Megan Bozek and her parents, Donna and Ray, wish they could be in two places at once Sunday as Emma and Dana Bozek will playing for their field hockey championships.
Emma Bozek, a freshman, will be playing for the University of North Carolina as the Tar Heels face Princeton in the NCAA Division I field hockey championship game at 1 p.m. in Norfolk.
Dana Bozek, a freshman at Lakeland, will join her teammates as the Hornets go for an unprecedented fourth consecutive New York State Class B title. Lakeland will play Pittsford Sutherland at 2 p.m. in Syracuse.
Megan and her father are in Norfolk with Emma and Donna is in Syracuse with Dana.
“It is tough, but also very exciting for my parents because they had to split the weekend, even though they would love to be at both places at the same time,” said Megan Bozek, a starting defender on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team. “This is very exciting for me because I never expected I would be able to see either Emma or Dana play because I am currently playing in college myself. I was able to watch Dana’s regional semifinal last week and Emma’s final four games this weekend.”
Megan Bozek said she and her mom will be wearing out their cell phone key pads once again today.
“My mom and I are keeping each other updated,” Megan Bozek said. “Yesterday, she gave me play-by-play on Dana’s game and today we will be updating each other with Emma playing at 1 p.m. and Dana at 2.”
