Traffic Alert Issued For Yorktown Costume Parade

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Several streets in Yorktown will be a sea of costumed kids - not cars - this weekend as officials shut down some roadways for the annual Halloween Parade.

The Yorktown Lions Club’s annual Halloween Costume Parade will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, kicking off at the Yorktown Plaza Park, with the procession making its way to the Jack DeVito Veterans Memorial Field for a holiday celebration.

As a precaution, the Yorktown Police Department will temporarily be closing select streets during the duration of the Halloween parade.

  • Commerce Street will be closed between Veterans Road and Downing Drive;
  • Veterans Road will be closed between Commerce Street and Maple Hill Street;
  • Commerce Street will be closed at Downing Drive;
  • Hanover Street will be closed at Commerce Street.

The Halloween carnival is scheduled to conclude at approximately 4 p.m. The rain date is the following Sunday, Oct. 29, though that would only include the carnival, not parade.
